Catriona Toop is a New Zealand actress best known for Shortland Street, The Bold and the Beautiful, Agent Carter, and Doctors.

Early life and education

Toop was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand. She began drama classes at the age of six, encouraged by her mother who was a speech and drama teacher, and continued acting throughout high school. She received a Bachelor of Performing Arts from the New Zealand National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts (NASDA) before relocating to Toronto and then London, where she studied at the London Actors Centre.[1]

Career

Toop has appeared in multiple film and television roles in the United States, United Kingdom, and New Zealand. She made her professional television debut on the BBC One series Doctors in 2012 in the role of Aliona McGregor.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] That same year, she also appeared in the feature film A Confident Man.[9][10][11] In 2016, she appeared on US series The Bold and the Beautiful[12] and Agent Carter.[13] In 2017, she appeared on New Zealand mini-series Harrow[14] and popular New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street in the role of Mindy Connelly.[15][16]

She has also appeared in multiple films, including Netflix film Naughty & Nice opposite Haylie Duff[17] and Lifetime film My Christmas Prince.[18][19]
