Catherine A. Labonte Cloutier (born July 25, 1950 in Springfield, Massachusetts) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Delaware Senate since January 9, 2001 representing District 10.[2] Cloutier has served in the Delaware General Assembly continuously since 1999, in the Delaware House of Representatives until 2001.

Elections

  • 2012 Cloutier and Democratic nominee Christopher Counihan were both unopposed for their September 11, 2012 primaries, setting up a rematch of their 2010 race; Cloutier won the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 12,912 votes (56.2%) against Counihan.[3]
  • 1998 When her husband, former Lieutenant Governor of Delaware candidate and Republican Representative Philip D. Cloutier, died in office, Cloutier was unopposed for the House District 11 September 12, 1998 Republican Primary and won the November 3, 1998 General election with 4,584 votes (72.9%) against Democratic nominee Michael Paul.[4]
  • 2000 Cloutier won the September 9, 2000 Republican Primary with 1,529 votes (68.6%),[5] and won the November 7, 2000 General election with 8,099 votes (52.2%) against Democratic nominee William McGlinchey.[6]
  • 2002 Cloutier was unopposed for both the September 10, 2002 Republican Primary and the November 5, 2002 General election, winning with 9,446 votes.[7]
  • 2006 Cloutier was unopposed for the September 12, 2006 Republican Primary and won the November 7, 2006 General election with 6,945 votes (52.6%) against Democratic Patricia Morrison.[8]
  • 2010 Cloutier was unopposed for the September 17, 2010 Republican Primary and won the November 2, 2010 General election with 7,814 votes (54.9%) against Democratic nominee Christopher Counihan; Cloutier had also qualified and received votes as the Working Families Party candidate.[9]
