Castle Island is a summer village in Alberta, Canada. It is located on a small island on Lac Ste. Anne, close to the mouth of the Sturgeon River.

Demographics

In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Summer Village of Castle Island recorded a population of 10 living in 7 of its 19 total private dwellings, a −47.4% change from its 2011 population of 19. With a land area of 0.05 km2 (0.019 sq mi), it had a population density of 200.0/km2 (518.0/sq mi) in 2016.[1]

In the 2011 Census, the Summer Village of Castle Island had a population of 19 living in 11 of its 20 total dwellings, a -13.6% change from its 2006 population of 22. With a land area of 0.05 km2 (0.019 sq mi), it had a population density of 380.0/km2 (984.2/sq mi) in 2011.[2]
