Cartoon Saloon is an Irish animation film and television studio based in Kilkenny which provides illustration, design, film and TV services. The studio is best known for its animated feature films The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, and The Breadwinner. Their films have received three Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Feature. The company also developed the cartoon series Skunk Fu! and Puffin Rock.
History
The studio began as an informal partnership between a group of animators brought together by Paul Young, Nora Twomey and Tomm Moore in 1999. Cartoon Saloon has since grown into a multi-award-winning animation and illustration design studio.[2]
Services
The studio provides animation, illustration and design services for clients ranging from the BBC to Walker books and advertising agencies.
Cartoon Saloon also provided the graphics for the successful Emperor of the Irish exhibition at Trinity College Dublin, in 2014.[3]
