By the Way, I Forgive You is the sixth studio album by Brandi Carlile, released on February 16, 2018. "The Joke" is the album's lead single.[2][3] The album was co-produced by Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings.[4][5] The album art is an original painting by Scott Avett.[6]
Composition
"The Mother" commemorates Carlile's daughter.[7]
