The Building Societies Association is the trade organisation representing building societies and 4 of the larger Credit unions in the United Kingdom.

In 2018, the 44 building societies in the United Kingdom, had total assets of over £400 billion.[1]

23 million adults have building society saving accounts and 22% of the population are currently buying their own homes with the help of building society loans.[2]
