The Bridgetown International University (BIU), established in 2017, is a medical school that has its campus in Bridgetown, Barbados, Caribbean Islands. Bridgetown International University provides education in the sector of Medicine. The university imparts education in the Doctor of Medicine with a duration of 5 years for students who have completed 12th Grade in school and the same course with a duration of 4 years for students having completed Bachelor of Science degree.[1][2]

Accreditation and history

Bridgetown International University was established in 2017. It is situated in Barbados and enlisted in World Directory of Medical Schools[3]. The university is also recognized by the India Medical Council of India (MCI)][4]. The school is the seventh medical school to start operating in Barbados, where the government has been emphasizing development of medical education as a way to diversify the economy. The first intake is expected to be 500 students from India, Sri Lanka, Ghana, South Africa and Nepal.[5].

Session and degree

Bridgetown International University offers three academic session starts in a year: January, May, and September.[6]
