Brian Thomas Douglas Bowman (born August 18, 1971) is a Canadian politician, the current mayor of Winnipeg, Manitoba since the 2014 municipal election.[2][3][4]

Personal and early life

He is a self-identified Métis,[1] and is the first mayor of aboriginal descent in the city's history, according to CBC News.[5] He worked as a privacy lawyer prior to entering the municipal election.[1]

Politics

He has been involved in the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba, although he has never held elected office prior to his election to the mayoralty.[1]
