Black Fire I is a display of abstract expressionism painted by Barnett Newman, in 1961.[1]

History and Price

Black Fire I was sold to a private collector[3] for $84.2 million dollars ($84,165,000) on 13 May 2014, New York, Rockefeller Plaza,[4] after a telephone bidding war, exceeding the estimations of $50 million made by the organizing house, Christie’s.
