Billboard China is a music publication associated with American music business trade magazine Billboard. It was first established in 2016. On that same year,the website was launched online,with its mainly focus on music news,new music,etc.

Background

With the global expansion of Billboard to continue,the U.S. publication eyes on Asian music market. On May 28, 2015, Billboard radio china was launched in Hong Kong,in partnership with local company Tork Limited before its official China launch, due to china's strict censorship for foreign company to launch business in the country.[3] On September 12, 2016, Billboard officially announced its launch in China partnered with company Vision Music Ltd..[1] On December 29, the website was establised online by the China branch.[4]

Charts

Initially, the site only published the U.S. publications' two mainly infulencial album and single charts.

On April 21, 2017, Billboard China partnered with Nilsen Company and Chinese leading social website Weibo to create a social media music chart.[5]
