Big Creek (Northwest Missouri)

Big Creek is a stream in Harrison and Daviess counties of northern Missouri.[1] It is a tributary of the Grand River.

The source is the junction of the West Fork Big Creek and the East Fork Big Creek located at 40°15′59″N 94°03′09″W / 40.26639°N 94.05250°W / 40.26639; -94.05250 and its confluence with the Grand River is at 40°01′30″N 94°06′23″W / 40.02500°N 94.10639°W / 40.02500; -94.10639Coordinates: 40°01′30″N 94°06′23″W / 40.02500°N 94.10639°W / 40.02500; -94.10639.[1]

Big Creek most likely was named for its tendency to swell after rainstorms.[2]
