Berteștii de Jos is a commune located in Brăila County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Berteștii de Jos, Berteștii de Sus, Gura Călmățui and Spiru Haret. It formerly included Gura Gârluței and Nicolești villages, now depopulated.
