Benjamin Bullock (born 19 July 1989) is an Australian lawyer, adventure tourer and celebrity cook. He was a contestant in MasterChef Australia.[1] In 2017 he began a round-the-world solo motorbike crossing for charity from Perth, Western Australia to Perth, Scotland.[2]

Early life

Bullock was raised in Glen Forrest, Western Australia where he attended Guildford Grammar School. He has a Greek-Australian background, his mother's family being from Kastellorizo and his father's family being sheep and wheat farmers from Moora.[3] He learned to cook from his grandmothers.[4] In 2011, Bullock graduated from Murdoch University having been shortlisted as one of six for a national Law Student of the Year Award for final year law students.[5]

Law

After being admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Bullock worked for a number of firms before reaching Director of the firm Philipoff Legal at the age of 26. He was shortlisted as one of six finalists for a national award in his last year of study,[6]

Charity

In 2017, Bullock co-founded a charity which aims to raise funds and awareness for depression and suicide prevention.

Bullock's motorbike ride is in conjunction with LifelineWA and the Black Dog Ride[7] who provide services for depression and suicide prevention.

Adventure Touring

In September 2017, Bullock embarked on a food journey across 30 countries riding a Hunter Motorcycles Daytona model 30,000 km from Perth, Western Australia to Perth, Scotland.[8] Bullock's route takes him through Southeast Asia, the Himalaya’s, Middle East and Europe. All proceeds of the From Perth to Perth ride are in support of mental health initiatives.[9]

Cooking

Bullock was selected in the Top 24 to contest MasterChef Australia in 2017.[10] Bullock and Masterchef Australia 2017 runner-up Ben Ungermann cooked for charity in Indonesia in October 2017 from both rubbish tips to 5-star resorts.[11]
