Bekim Hamëz Jashari (born 28 January 1975) is a Kosovo Albanian, who is the mayor of the Skenderaj municipality in Kosovo. He was the son and nephew of Kosovo Liberation Army commanders Hamëz Jashari and Adem Jashari who were killed in the Attack on Prekaz as well as 56 other members of his family. Jasharis sister Besarta was the only survivor of the attack. Jashari was with his uncle Rifat in Germany at the time.[1]

Mayor of Skenderaj

Jashari announced he was standing for Mayor of Skenderaj in the 2017 local elections in the summer of that year. Skenderaj had been run by the Democratic Party of Kosovo since the end of the Kosovo war, but in respect to the Jashari family, the Democratic Party did not put forward a candidate.

Jashari was elected mayor on 22 October 2017 winning 85.5% of votes.
