[History] The Bega is a beautiful village under the Begkhola village development committee of Myagdi district. It lies approximately 6 miles north from the Beni Bazar. The naturally, geographical structure of this village is steep land. It is also surrounded by beautiful green hills. The former residents of this village is saying, many years ago there were many forests and water resources. Due to slope land, the soil was flowing down frequently so the villagers had been saying "Bage" "Bage", . The meaning of this Nepali word is that the soil of that land is frequently flowing down and suffered from good living there. After that, the villagers had decided to search another place to settle, finally they selected the Nakale. Because there was well land to cultivate and good environment for settle. After many years, the former slope land was resumed from the flowing soil problem and had grew by forest. Slowly, the former residents from Nakale were attracting again back to their old land. They had started to partition the land for making house and began to grow foods there. It was converted to large community of villagers. Since that period, the villagers had changed the name of this land as "Bega" instead of old name "Bage" "Bage".

There is no exactly written proof history of how was named "Banduk" of this place. The similar "myth "from the various former villagers, it is proudly can say, the name Banduk was created from the ended of the debate between Bahun and Magar tribes. In ancient time, there had been settled Bahun and Magars in the hilly and nice land. The land was claimed for ownself by both tribes. No one could be made own ownership of that land. Many times they had debate about the right to cultivate that land. The equal claim was on that period. It had gone as long about the same topic. Finally, they had decided to end the debate among them. Some senior villagers (judges ) had gathered and do arrange the judicious water. By order of judges, Bahun and Magars were agreed and went to sink in the water pond. Both castes were sunk in the water pond but the Bahun pulled out his head while he was feeling difficulty inside the water and began to look outside but Magar had never been pulled his head . Some villagers who were looking around the pond , started to voice repeated as Bahud dub, Bahun dub "( It means let to sink). Thus, the judges were announced that the winner of Magars. Since that period the villagers had begun to say of this place is "Bahun dub", "Bahun dub". After long time saying Bahud dub, this word had broken as Bauduk, and it also had broken then the recent real and correct name is Banduk. We have still found that some villagers from Rakhu have been called the name of this village is Bauduk.

Today, how to introduce the begkhola ? This is the hard topic for villagers as well as foreigners because it is neither mapped in any place nor famous for tourism destination. They have may be dilemma about the begkhola. In fact from the former villagers' myth, it should have created from the name of stream which flows between two villages. Now, begkhola is also one of the VDC among the 41 VDC in Myagdi district. The two villages are Bega with 6 wards and Banduk with 3 wards. Geographically, two village's shape are face to face. Begkhola stream is flows as steep way and mix with Kali Gandaki river where lies the Beni -Mustang (Muktinath: pilgrimage place) motor road.

Recently We can reach at both village within one and half hour by jeep and bus from Beni Bazzar in winter season. Due to landslide and flooding problem in summer season there is an absence of vehicle for traveling and must take on foot. There are around 1900 residents in Begkhola vdc. The both village are very beautiful and nice surrounded by green hills . The houses are made by natural stones and wooden. The houses are coloring by white, red and gray color soil . It makes the charming to anyone who could reach at real village. Most of magar castes and other ethnic castes people are settling in both villages. Mandatory, many young guys are going to overseas for earning in the lack of employment opportunities in the village in addition to the state situation. Nowadays, both villages have electricity facility, one sub health post, one post office, one high school, two lower secondary schools and two primary schools. For communication , there is installed the telephone service in Bega village and many mobile set are receiving the message now but no so well satisfaction. Still should be improved the telephone facility in both villages. The recent progress, NTc has installed the mini mobile tower and good telephone service at Tiplyang village near the Kali Gandaki river where is small junction market place for neighboring villages.

Moreover, we have launched the website of whole begkhola for begkholes for the aim of reminding our born place since many villagers have been migrated to city and plain place of Nepal as well as foreign country like United Kingdom. They have little chance to go back in their village, however they love their native village because we have got many examples by giving donation to school for the education development and assist the financial support to build requirement infrastructure due to lack of sufficient fund providing by Nepal government.

In the context of expansion of this bekhola.com website stands for non profit, we have no big dream so far but still going as tortoise speed. Now, many villagers from begkhola are well known about this website in Hong Kong , UK, USA, European country, Asian country,Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Gulf country as well as our neighboring villagers have also viewed. But , it is shame that , there is no vision and sufficient content inside the website except few photos and videos. Our expectation is that , it should be grow by ourself who are interested in this field by posting article and content , photos, videos without recruiting professional man power. But the problem is that many interested villagers are living in foreign country and working, they can't go village immediately to collect the sources for website. The villagers and teachers who are living in real village, haven't knowledge and concept of this kind of information technology so there is a big gap between the native villagers and overseas villagers. We also couldn't recruit the manpower to collect the sources in the absence of the integrated feeling needy and incentive budget towards the lack of time in foreign country. The place of one part, we are committing to promote local culture for entertainment through this website. Many local culture are hidden and going to disappeared daily but no attention about to conserve it. We have several natural resources but no ideas to utilize and safe, so , we are demanding the more articles related to concern topic. There are famous local festival celebrated by villagers but no best idea to do income generation for village and villagers both party. They are doing huge programs without any objectives and only limited to the traditional culture and entertainment view. The both village Bega and Banduk have own musical instrument by made local craft. We called the name is "Naumati Baja" that means 9 kinds of instrument music playing at once time. The band group of local people are enjoying with various type of folk song and can show the dance. This would be main an attraction for national and overseas tourist for cheap living there. Anyone can go for one day and night and enjoy with fully local culture and have take the taste of local food "porridge and mustard."
