Beau Kittredge is a professional Ultimate player for the New York Empire, who competes in the AUDL. Beau is noted for his speed and very decorated record in the world of Ultimate. He is known for jumping over an opponent to catch the disc while playing with the University of Colorado. His cutting prowess makes him one of the best players to ever play the game.[1]

Personal life

Beau was born in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1982. He then went to Lathrop High School before going to the University Of Colorado.

Ultimate career

Beau played Ultimate at the University Of Colorado, before playing for club teams such as Johnny Bravo and Revolver, winning a total of three club titles. He has also played for the United States national team, winning five world championships in the Open category.

In 2013, Beau signed for San Francisco Dogfish, in the Major League Ultimate league. After a season with the Dogfish, he moved to the San Jose Spiders, an AUDL team. In his first season for them, Kittredge recorded 36 goals, 32 assists and 31 blocks,[2] whilst starting all 15 games in the season. The Spiders finished the season by beating Toronto Rush 28–18 to win the AUDL Championship, resulting in Beau being named league MVP for the 2014 season. Kittredge stayed with the Spiders for the 2015 season, helping them to another Championship victory with a 17–15 win against Madison Radicals. Over the season, Beau recorded 33 assists, 66 goals and 24 blocks.[3] He was also named the league MVP for the second year in a row. In 2016, Beau signed for the Dallas Roughnecks for their inaugural season in the league. Injury meant that Kittredge was unable to have a full season, as he tore his ACL and MCL in a game against Charlotte Express. Despite this, he did record 9 assists, 22 goals and 9 blocks during the season,[4] with the Roughnecks still managing a perfect 15–0 record for the season to win the AUDL Championship. Beau signed for the San Francisco FlameThrowers for the 2017 season.

Other jobs

Beau was originally an author, working for Skyd magazine, an online media site geared towards Ultimate. He was also the CEO of Beau's Books. Later, he worked for Early Recognition Is Critical (E.R.I.C.), an organization which teaches children about early cancer awareness with the help of Ultimate. Beau eventually became the highest paid player in the AUDL, earning enough to not require a second job. He is reported to earn up to $50,000, making him one of the only Ultimate players who makes enough to live on.
