Bakori is a local government area in Katsina State, Nigeria. It was created on 15 May 1989 by the then military governor of Katsina State Major General Lawrence Onoja

The district head of Bakori was suspended and later reinstated by the Emir of Katsina HRH. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman due to the allegations of Corruption, mismanagement, and disrespect to Katsina emirate.

Alhaji Idris Sule Idris,assumed as the Makaman Katsina V, Sarkin Adon Sarkin Katsina, District Head of Bakori in March 2007. Succeeding his father Late Alhaji Sule Idris Nadabo who died after a brief illness.

It has an area of 679 km² and a population of 641,576 as of the 2006 census.Moreover, it shares border with Funtua by the west, Malumfashi by the North, Danja by the South and Kankara by the East. Federal Government Girls College is located at Bakori.
