PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (commonly known as Emtek) is an Indonesian technology, telecommunication and media conglomerate and headquartered in Jakarta. As of 2013, it is the second largest media company.[1] It is the parent company for subsidiaries which include terrestrial television subscription NexMedia and three television stations – SCTV, Indosiar and O Channel. It was established in 1983 by Eddy K. Sariaatmadja. Currently, the company is headed by Alvin W. Sariaatmadja as its President Director.[2]

History

In 1997, PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Komputer evolved to PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Indonesia.[3] On 2 August 2004, the company established a local television station – O Channel, along with the MRA Media Group. In 2007, Emtek took full control of the station. In 2008, the group took control of Surya Citra Media (SCTV). In November 2011, Emtek launched a subscription TV channel, named NexMedia. Emtek as an Official Broadcaster of the 2018 Asian Games for the Indonesian Olympic Committee.[4]
