BAPO 2

BAPO 2 is a town in Bojanala District Municipality in the North West province of South Africa.[1]

Royalty

The royal family of Bapo 2 is the Mogale family. Previous chiefs include Agonkitse Mogale who was followed by Semetsa Mogale. Currently there is no recognised chief although it is expected Semetsa's grandson will ascend the chieftains.

History of Bapo 2.

Bapo 2 are originally descended from Bapong near Brits. It is also known as Phorotlhwane or Builtfontein. Currently there are a mix of people from all over South Africa residing here as well as other countries.

There are 2 early learning centres namely, Meso early learning centre and Mmakgosi early learning centre. Primary schools are 2, Gobakwang primary school (Motseng section) and Agonkitse primary school(Meriting Section). Semetsa secondary school is located in Motiketsane section.

Cultural heritage

Bapo ba Phorotlhwane a Mogale's totem is an elephant.

Most people practice Christinity or traditional culture.
