Avon Terrace it is the main street of the town of York, Western Australia, and is lined with heritage-listed buildings. Commencing from the southern end of Avon Terrace is the Great Southern Highway, which joins Albany Highway near Cranbrook, loosely following the original overland route between the Swan River Colony and Albany. To the north Avon Terrace links up with the road to Spencers Brook, known as the Spencers Brook - York road.

The York Town Hall defines the southern portion of the larger buildings on its western side, and the York Cooperative building is at the northern end on the eastern side of the main stretch of heritage buildings of size.[2][3][4]

In 2010 a renewal project commenced for Avon Terrace in response to various traffic and parking issues, as well as to improve the street's appearance. The upgrades provided for disabled and motorcycle parking, and al fresco dining areas. The upgrades were complemented by efforts from the business community and property owners.[5]
