Asser Rig (dead about 1150) was a Danish chieftain of Zealand, Denmark.

He was the son of Skjalm Hvide (died after 1102). His wife Inger Eriksdotter (ca. 1100–1157) was recorded as the daughter of Eric, Jarl of Falster and Princess Cecilia Knutsdatter, with whom he had three children: Absalon (c. 1128–1201), Archbishop of Lund, Esbern Snare (c. 1127–1204), and Ingefred Assersdatter (c. 1130-1160). [1] [2] [3]

Inger and Asser resided at Fjenneslev on Zealand and built the Fjenneslev Church (Fjenneslev Kirke) at Sorø. [4] [5]
