Ashraf Jahangir Semnani (Urdu: سئد مقدم ﺁشرف; 1285–1405 CE[1]) [2][3][4] Sultan Syed Makhdoom Ashraf Jihangir Semnani was a sufi saint born in the year 1285 A.D in Semnan,Iran.
His father Sultan Ibrahim Noorbakshi was the king of Semnan.[5] He traced his lineage to Muhammad through his grandson Imam Hussain. His mother Bibi Khadija was a descendent of the Turkish Sufi saint Khwaja Ahmed Yasawi.[6]
Early Life
He had memorized the Quran al Kerim at the young age of 7 in the 7 traditional methods of recitation.By the age of 14 he had studied various religious sciences.
After the demise of his father he was made the king at the age of 17.He was always inclined towards sufism and always kept company of the sufis of his time most notably Ruknuddin Ala ul Daula Semnani.[7]
At the age of 23 he abdicated his throne to his brother Sultan Sayyid Muhammad also sought permission from his mother and set on his journey to meet his master Ala ul Haq Pandwi in Bengal.[8][9]
His Travels
He extensively travelled to many cities & countries like Najaf,Karbala,Rum (Anatolia),Egypt,Yemen,Mashad ,Damascus,Herat,Tranoxiana,Turkistan,Kandahar,Ghazni,Kabul,Multan,Ajodhan,Ajmer,Delhi
Then he travelled to the South India to Gulbarga and then to Sarandib, apart from that he also visited the two Holy Cities of Makkah & Madinah.[7]

While on his travels he met many sufi saints,scholars,ascetics,mendicants and jurists among them the most notable he met are

3)Khwaja Bande Nawaz Gesudaraz
5))Sultan Walad (Jalaluddin Rumi’s Son)[7]
Shrine & URS
His shrine is located in Kichauccha Sharif, district Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. His urs (demise anniversary) is commemorated on 28th of the Islamic month Muharram.
