Arvind Kumar Agrawal

Arvind Kumar Agrawal (born 18 April 1954[1]) is the first Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University Bihar (MGCUB) at Motihari.[2][3] He joined the university on 3 February 2016. He is a leading Indian sociologist and Vice-president of International Sociological Association's Research Committee on Sociology of Law.[4]

He did his doctoral research at Heidelberg University, Germany on “Max Weber and Modern Sociological Theory”.[5] Prior to joining MGCUB, he served as Dean, School of Fine Arts & Art Education & Controller of Examinations at Central University of Himachal Pradesh.[6]

Earlier he was Professor & Head, Department of Sociology, & Hony. Director, Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.[7] His research interests include Social theory, Research Methodology, Globalization and Sociology of Law.[8]
