Aruppukkottai railway station is located in Aruppukkottai, Tamil Nadu connecting Manamadurai and Virudhunagar. It is administered under Madurai railway division.[3]

Overview

The station falling on Manamadurai–Virudhunagar line serving the Aruppukottai town was opened by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, K. Kamaraj.[4] It connects southern districts to delta districts. A proposed new route from Madurai – Thoothukudi via this station (under construction)[1] , which would make aruppukkottai as a junction railway station.[5]
