Apurva Agnihotri (born 2 December 1972) is an Indian actor, known for his role in hit show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin[1][2][3] and his debut film Pardes.

Personal life

Agnihotri was born in Kanpur, India. Apoorva finished his schooling from Kanpur-based Sheiling House school. Then, from Bhavan's college in Mumbai, he received Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. He married Shilpa Sakhlani in 2004.[4]

Career

Apurva Agnihotri debuted in the film Pardes, co-starring with Shahrukh Khan and directed by Subhash Ghai. The film was highly successful and garnered Agnihotri with the nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1997's Zee Cine Awards. Apurva, along with his wife, were participants of reality show Big Boss season 7 which has been aired on Colors from 15th Sept 2013. In the starting episode, Apurva has been sent to Jahannum('Hell') while his wife was assigned Jannat ('Heaven').

After several more film roles, he was offered the lead role in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, an Indian television serial. His work as Armaan Suri won him the Indian Telly Awards Best Actor Award for 2005.[5]

He joined the show Bigg Boss 7 on 15 September 2013 with his wife Shilpa Sakhlani. He was a patient and calm player and also shaved his hair off to make his team win a task. He was voted out by the audience on the 7th week of the show (2 November 2013).
