Father Anthony Murmu was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, lower house of the Parliament of India from Rajmahal ,Bihar as a member of the Janata Party.[2][3][4] Murmu was a Jesuit priest.[5][6] He struggled for rights of Santhal tribals.[6]

Murmu was killed in a massacre in Banjhi April 19, 1985 along with 14 other Santhals.[2][3][5]
