Anil Budha Magar, born on 15 June 1993, is an independent film maker of Nepal. He is an also script writer, novel writer, artist, director and journalist. He is a social activist and ethnographic researcher.

Magar has directed Gaaula Gothalo (2012), Tukreko Mutu (2012); a short Raithane Gyan Binako Jeevan (Life without native knowledge) (2013)was nomination in 8th Nepal international indigenous film festival 2014 and a documentary film Pahichan ko Khoji (2014).

His third feature movie "Lomba The Leadership" was nominated for Nepali Indigenous Film Festival 2017, held in New York, in six categories and won 3 awards including Best Film, Best Director and Best Costume.[1] The movie portrays the struggle of shepherds after the death of a ‘Lomba’ (leader sheep), and their efforts to train another sheep to take the new identity as the leader of the herd. “Set in the Himalayas, Lomba tells the story of the selection of a next sheep ‘leader’ following the demise of an erstwhile ‘Lomba’. Selecting a Lomba and training it often happens to be a gruelling task for shepherds. Which gives the film its main conflict,” director Magar said in one of his interviews to The Kathmandu Post.[2] "Lomba" was also nominated for 15th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival(KIMFF) 2017.[3] "lomba" was also nominated 3rd Pokhara International Mountain Film Festival(PIMFF) 2017. and Nepal America International Film Festival (NAIFF)2018. http://nafilmsociety.org/nafilmsociety/

His novel "Papi nankhar" was published in 2011 and was also awarded by 'Jeeba seeme new talent literature prize-2069'. The award prize was given by chief guest minister DAL BHADUR RANA MAGAR (ministry or land reform and management).[4]
