Anant National University (ANU) is a private university[3] located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The university was established in 2016 by the Laxman Gyanpith Trust through The Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2016.[4] The university focuses on the fields of architecture, interior design and urban planning.

History

Anant National University started its way as Anant Institute of Architecture, established in 2011 which was affiliated to Gujarat University. In 2014 the Anant Institute of Planning was established, and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University. Finally, in 2015 the Anant Institute of Design was established and affiliated to Gujarat University. In 2016 private university status was granted and the university was established.[5]

Academics

The university offers five-year Bachelor of Architecture,[6] four-year Bachelor of Design (Interior)[7] and four-year Bachelor of Planning[8] degrees. In 2017 the university announced a one-year, full-time, post-graduate Fellowship programme.[9]

Affiliation

Like all private universities in India, ANU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[3] The Bachelor of Architecture programme is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA) for 80 seats.[10]
