Amphibia is an upcoming American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation for Disney Channel. The series was created by Matt Braly, storyboard artist for Gravity Falls, and is set for an early 2019 release.
Plot
The series chronicles the adventures of a selfish 13-year-old Thai-American girl Anne Boonchuy, who is magically transported to Amphibia, a world inhabited by frogs. She soon meets and befriends an adventurous young frog named Sprig, who will guide her to be a true hero, while discovering the first true friendship in her life and learning who she really is.
Production
As of February 23, 2018, Disney Channel had greenlit the show titled Amphibia and is set to be released in 2019, along with The Owl House.
The series was created by Matt Braly, the storyboard artist of Gravity Falls and the director of Big City Greens. According to his Twitter account, he had been working on the series for almost two years before being greenlighted.[1]
Marketing
On July 19, 2018, during the Star vs. The Forces of Evil and Big City Greens panel at San Diego Comic Con, the intro for the series was released.
