Allagash abductions

The Allagash Abduction is a purported UFO sighting and alien abduction that is alleged to have occurred in Allagash, Maine, United States in 1976. The abduction was admitted to be a hoax in a 2016 published interview by one of the alleged participants.

Claims

Brothers Jim Weiner and Jack Weiner with friends Charles Foltz and Charles Rak claim that they were abducted by aliens during a camping trip in Allagash, Maine on August 20, 1976. According to the four men, hypnotic regression enabled them to recall being taken aboard a circular UFO and being "probed and tested by four-fingered beings with almond-shaped eyes and languid limbs".[1]

The incident was the subject of a book, The Allagash Abductions by Raymond E. Fowler. The incident was also dramatized in an episode of Unsolved Mysteries and featured in the TV program Abducted by UFOs.

In an interview published in the St. John Valley Times, Chuck Rak admitted that the abduction part of the story was a total fabrication, and that he went along with the narrative for financial gain. However, he does admit to seeing a series of strange lights over a period of a couple days during the camping trip.[2]
