Alex Paxton-Beesley is a Canadian actress from Toronto most noted for her acting roles in no less than 25 different TV series, including Copper, The Strain, Good Witch, Wynonna Earp, Cardinal and Pure.
Education and theatre work
Paxton-Beesley graduated in 2008 from the of the George Brown Theatre School in Toronto,[1] then went on to graduate from the Actors' Conservatory at the Canadian Film Centre.[2] Paxton-Beesley has been involved in stage work at The Company Theatre in Festen in 2008, at the Canadian Stage Company and the Citadel Theatre on Rock 'n' Roll in 2009 and at the Theatre Aquarius[3] in The Woman in White.[4] She returned to the stage in 2017 in Slip a complex psychological drama where she played a detective at the Tarragon Theatre, her performance receiving high praise from Theatre Critic Karen Fricker.[5]
TV and film
Paxton-Beesley has performed acting roles in no less than 25 different TV series, including Copper in 2012, an American Civil War drama,[1] where she played Ellen Corcoran for 11 episodes, The Strain by Guillermo del Toro in 2014, Good Witch as Eve in 2015, Wynonna Earp as Hetty Tate, 2016. She played the role of a brain damaged shooting victim "Red" in six episodes of the TV series Cardinal in 2018[6] and in the same year starring as "Ann Funk" in Pure.[2][7][8]
Other work
Paxton-Beesley offers advice to budding actor students, advising they be mentally, physically and emotionally prepared for the reality of rejection in auditions. She was purported to suggest to students at Niagara College Q and A session, that in around 400 of her auditions (to 2014), only 10 per cent or so were successful.[1]
Personal life
Her brother Tommy Paxton-Beesley is a musician, better known by the stage name River Tiber.[9]
