Alba Orbital, is a British company building PocketQube satellites. Alba Orbital is the developer and manufacturer of the Unicorn-1 and Unicorn-2 satellite platforms. Alba Orbital was named in 2015 by CNN as one of the top 10 startups to watch.[1]. Alba Orbital was founded in 2012 following on from a successful Kickstarter campaign.
The company holds contracts with the European Space Agency. [2]
Overview
Alba Orbital build, design spacecraft and provide consultancy for those building small satellites. Its Unicorn-1 platform is about the size of a can of Irn-Bru, while its slightly larger Unicorn-2 platform is about the size of a bottle of the same.
