Al-Baghuz Fawqani (Arabic: الباغوز فوقاني) is a Syrian town located in Abu Kamal District, Deir ez-Zor. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Al-Baghuz Fawqani had a population of 10,649 in the 2004 census.[1]
During the course of the Syrian Civil War, Baghuz came under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. It was recaptured in September 2018 by the Syrian Democratic Forces.[2]
