Ahmad Ali Al Sayegh (Arabic: أحمد علي الصايغ) is a prominent businessman in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is currently the chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Market.[1] Al Sayegh also serves as the managing director for Dolphin Energy.[2] He is a board member of Etihad Airways.[3]

Education

Al Sayegh holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Lewis & Clark College, Oregon.[4]

Career

He started his career at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation and would eventually become its finance director.

In 2004 he founded Aldar Properties PJSC, where he served as chairman until April 2011.[5][6]

He has also served in a number of other key capacities in Abu Dhabi: Board Member of the UAE Offsets Group (UAE), board member of the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company,[7] Deputy Chairman of First Gulf Bank (UAE), Member, Board of management Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (UAE), Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Ship Building (UAE). He is also the Secretary General of the Executive Council and board member of the Emirates Foundation.[8] He has also served as the Board of Trustees of Abu Dhabi University.[9] Al Sayegh also served as the chairman of Masdar.[10] He was a member of the supervisory board at LeasePlan.[6]

Awards

Al Sayegh was named as one of "The Power 100" by Arabian Business.com in 2008. He was ranked #63.[4]
