Abu Dhabi Global Market

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) is an international financial centre located on Al Maryah Island in the heart of the UAE's capital city, Abu Dhabi.[1]

ADGM has three independent authorities – The Financial Services Regulator, The Registration Bureau and The Courts.[2]

In January 2015, the Abu Dhabi Global Market announced it has renamed “Sowwah Square” as “Abu Dhabi Global Market Square (ADGM Square)”.[3]

Al Maryah Island is central to the Abu Dhabi government's long-term development plans for the emirate.[4] This 114 hectare island is a financial free zone, designated the jurisdiction of Abu Dhabi Global Market and a financial free zone by Cabinet Resolution Number 15 of 2013. The island will include financial, commercial, leisure, entertainment and residential developments and facilities designed to meet Abu Dhabi’s long-term development and economic ambitions.[5]
