Adolphus Howells

Adolphus Williamson Howells (9 August 1866; died 3 December 1938) was an Anglican bishop in the 20th century.[1]

Howells was educated at Fourah Bay College and ordained in 1899.[2] He was a teacher at Badagry, Breadfruit, Ikoyi and Lagos, where he was Principal of the CMS Training Institution. He was Pastor of St John, Arolya from 1902 to 1918. In 1919 he became the first Vicar of Christ Church Pro-Cathedral; and in 1920 consecrated at Assistant Bishop for the Niger Delta.[3]
