Adam Mitter (born 5 January 1993 in Shrewsbury, England) is an English professional footballer who is playing for Global Cebu of the Philippines Football League. His great great-grandfather hailed from Calcutta, India and immigrated to England.[6]
Career
Sweden
Belonging to Ange IF of Sweden.[7] Despite offers from Iceland and Australia,[8] Mitter assumed the role as captain of the squad[9] and aimed to come first in the table with the club,[8] which happened that year and they gained promotion.[9]
Australia
Spending a season with WT Birkalla in 2014, Mitter claimed that the style of play there was more pugnacious than in Sweden, adding that it was similar to his experience in Scotland.[9]
Loyola Meralco
Joining Loyola Meralco Sparks of the old Filipino United Football League in January 2015,[10] the defender settled well into the country,[9] getting along with his teammates[10] and winning the 2014-15 PFF National Men's Cup[10][9] as well as finishing second in the table that year.[9] After extending his contract with the Sparks[10] and targeting a league title he lost his first round of the 2016 season 0-2.[11]
Fateh Hyderabad
Turning out for Fateh Hyderabad for the 2016-17 I-League 2nd Division, the English centre-back stated that Indian football was on the rise, going on to say that it would someday match the big leagues.[6] Mitter would also take up the role as club captain and guide them to the highest league finish and lowest number of goals conceded in the I-League 2nd Division preliminary round.
Ilocos United
After playing in India, Mitter returned to the Philippines to play for Ilocos United of the Philippines Football League. He would take over as club captain upon his return to the Philippines.
Hougang United
Mitter accepted a contract with Hougang United for the 2018 Singapore Premier League although he had received other offers from clubs in India and Malaysia.[12]
Global Cebu
Global Cebu of the Philippines Football League signed off Mitter from Hougang in July 2018 marking Mitter's return to the Philippines for the third time.[13]
