Rufino Familiar Sánchez (born 27 December 1986), known as Rufo Sánchez or simply Rufo, is a Spanish professional footballer who last played for Global Cebu as a forward.
He is considered one of the top 5 players during Matchday 6 in the AFC Asian Cup 2018 in an article by FOX Sports Asia.
Club career
In Spain, Sánchez played for clubs in the tercera division, which included a long spell with local club Internacional de Madrid once between 2007 and 2008, and again between 2010 and 2012.
In 2012, he joined Stallion in the UFL. In the following season, he transferred to Global. His transfer was blocked by Stallion after his contract was disputed by his previous club.[1] This led him to move to Thailand to join Thai Premier League club PTT Rayong in 2013.
On 23 February 2014, he made his debut for his new club against Singhtarua, scoring a 69-minute goal on debut.[2] His second goal for the club came against Chonburi in a 2–2 draw.[3]
Global Cebu announced on 1 August 2017 that Sanchez has returned with the club.[1] Sánchez left the Philippines Football League club in May 2018.[4]
