The 2019 Canadian Premier League is the inaugural season of the Canadian Premier League, a Tier 1 professional soccer league. The season will begin in April 2019, with eight teams competing.[1]

Teams

Eight teams will compete in the season – six newly-formed teams, one existing team which joined the CPL, and one team yet to be announced. The six new teams are Cavalry FC, Forge FC, HFX Wanderers FC, Pacific FC, Valour FC, and York 9 FC. FC Edmonton announced their move to the CPL having previously ceased professional operations following their 2017 season in the North American Soccer League. The final team to compete in the 2019 season has yet to be announced by the league.
