The 2016–17 Burgos CF season was the 23rd season in the history of Burgos CF. It was its 15th season in Segunda División B and the fourth one since its last promotion.

Overview

On 25 September 2016, after only earning one point in the first six league games and being eliminated in the first round of the Copa del Rey, Paco Fernández was sacked. Three days later, Manix Mandiola was appointed as new head coach of the team.[1]

After the resign of Juan Carlos Barriocanal as president of the club, on 17 December 2016, José Luis García was named new president by winning the election with the 55.3% of the votes.

Mandiola was sacked on 25 April 2017, after a 0–3 loss against Cultural Leonesa. Nacho Fernández, director of football, took the helm of the club for the final three matches and an eventual relegation play-off.[2]

At the end of the season, Burgos remained in Segunda División B by beating Linares Deportivo in the relegation play-offs.
