The 2014 Country Music Association Awards was held on November 5, 2014 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The show was hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood for a seventh year in a row.
Miranda Lambert was the lead nominee with nine, including a nomination for the biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year. Miranda Lambert also made CMA history when she won her eleventh award of the evening, making her the most awarded female artist in CMA history.[1]
George Strait, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, Brandy Clark, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Cole Swindell and every artist nominated for vocal group of the year (except for Lady Antebellum) and vocal duo of the year only earned one nomination. Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Kacey Musgraves and Luke Bryan all received three nominations, while Eric Church and Keith Urban received four. Dierks Bentley received the second most nominations with five. Luke Bryan won his very first Country Music Association award when he won the award for Entertainer of the Year. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert won their 5th of Male Vocalist and Female Vocalist.
