The 2011 Philippines Beechcraft Queen Air crash occurred on 10 December 2011, when a Beechcraft 65-80 Queen Air cargo aircraft experienced an engine failure and crashed into the Felixberto Serrano Elementary School in Parañaque, Philippines, killing at least 14 people including the three crew members on board the aircraft, and injuring over 20 people. Approximately 50 houses in the residential area were set ablaze by the subsequent fire caused by the accident.[4][5]

Investigation

An Investigation was carried out by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.[6]

Aftermath

After the crash, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) decided to ground all of Aviation Technology Innovator's aircraft.[7] At a press conference two weeks after the crash, CAAP officials stated that poor flying technique by the pilot was a possible cause of the crash. After the engine failure the aircraft was seen to turn left towards the dead engine, when the proper procedure in these circumstances would have been for the pilot to turn the aircraft to the right instead.[8]
