The 1987 Sonoma State Cossacks football team represented Sonoma State during the 1987 NCAA Division II football season. Sonoma State competed in the Northern California Athletic Conference in 1987.

The 1987 Cossacks were led by first-year head coach Marty Fine. They played home games at Cossacks Stadium[note 1] in Rohnert Park, California.
