The 1962 Vanderbilt Commodores football team represented Vanderbilt University in the 1962 college football season. The Commodores were led by head coach Arthur Guepe in his tenth season with a record of one win and nine losses (1–9 overall, 1–6 in the SEC). Vanderbilt achieved two milestones one for it 400 team victory, in the lone win of the season against the Green Wave of Tulane. They also lost the 200 game as well against Florida 42–7. This would be coach Guepes' last season to coach at Vanderbilt with an overall record of 39 wins 54 and 7, his 1955 Vanderbilt produced the first bowls game is schools history.
