The 1947 Western Michigan Broncos football team represented Western Michigan College of Education (later renamed Western Michigan University) as an independent during the 1947 college football season. In their sixth season under head coach John Gill, the Broncos compiled a 6–3 record and were outscored by their opponents, 147 to 139.[1][2] The team played its home games at Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.[3]

Halfback Al Bush was the team captain.[4] Guard Emerson Grossman received the team's most outstanding player award.[5]
