Željko Burić (born 15 July 1955) is a Croatian politician and doctor. He has been the Mayor of Šibenik, Croatia since 3 June 2013.[1]

Biography

Željko Burić was born in 1955 in Šibenik. On 3 June 2013 he became the mayor of Šibenik. Prior to his first term as mayor, he served as the director of a local hospital. He studied at School of Medicine at University of Zagreb from 1974 to 1978.

Personal life

Željko Burić was once married. He entered another marriage in which he has two daughters.

Local elections, 2013 and 2017

On the 2013 elections Buric in second round won Ante Županović. Burić had about 50%.

On Croatian local elections in 2017, Burić was promoted at second round versus Josip Živković (SDP). In first round he has about 45%.

In second round Burić won with 68,28%.

Burić's assistants are Danijel Mileta (HDZ) and Paško Rakić (HDZ). From 2013 to 2017 his assistant was Nikica Penđer, who is currently member of the Croatian Conservative Party and former member of the Croatian People's Party, in the coalition with Croatian Democratic Union.

On June 4, 2017 he won the second term as a mayor of Šibenik.
