Étymologie
D’origine incertaine ; peut-être un altération de queem. À comparer également avec quaint, cunt. Dérivation du gallois cwm (« vallée ») mais l’Oxford English Dictionary indique que c’est peu probable pour des raisons sémantique et phonologique (« unlikely on both semantic and phonological grounds »).
