Etymology
From Sino-Korean 세월은 (seworeun, “time and tide”) and native Korean 사람을 기다려 주지 않는다 (sarameul gidaryeo juji anneunda, “wait for no man”).[1] Most likely from 세월부대인 (歲月不待人, se-wol-bu-dae-in), as versed by 도연명 (陶淵明, do-yeon-myeong).[2]
