エレキギター

Japanese

Alternative forms

Etymology

Perhaps from a modified short form of エレクトリック・ギター (erekutorikku gitā).[1] Compare エレキテル (erekiteru). Also compare ケーキ (kēki, cake), デッキ (dekki, dekki), プロキシ (purokishi, proxy) for the use of (ki) instead of the typical (ku) to transcribe the foreign sound /k/.

Pronunciation

  • (Tokyo) レキギター [èrékí gíꜜtàà] (Nakadaka – [4])[1]
  • IPA(key): [e̞ɾe̞kʲi ɡʲita̠ː]

Noun

エレキギター (rōmaji ereki gitā)
