Klimov / Xalilov derive from Ancient Greek, without specifying the Greek word, perhaps meaning μαγίς (magís, small table), genitive μαγίδος (magídos). But compare Ottoman Turkish مائده (maide, table), Arabic مَائِدَة (māʾida, table), from Ge'ez ማእድ (maʾədd, table).
